replaying Cyberpunk 2077 now that I have a computer I can crank it up on and they really got their shit together, this game is fun as hell
also Johnny is one of my all time favorite Keanu roles, that could have been a disaster but it worked out great

The writing is some of my favorite in any game and I'm happy the game is finally in a state where that aspect of it is able to shine
I've not gotten the DLC yet, but it's on my want list.
Sidebar, I was musing yesterday about what Inside Out would be like in my head and someone sent me this. Roasted, but fair.
Did you get the phantom liberty thingie?
having Johnny around to trade barbs with V all the time makes me feel much more actively a part of the world
Are you playing as male or female V btw? Because I think the female voice actor is one of the best I've heard for a first-person protagonist, and that helped a lot to make me feel more connected to the character.
That said, while talking to my passively aggressive imaginary friend is enjoyable, I feel like developing a relationship (I don't know the game ending) is a BAD idea.
When he talks about Dex or Arasaka, you know it's heavy. When he gushes about Misty or talks up T-Bug, you get a feeling for the world they live in.
Keanu’s delivery style limits his roles but when it works it WORKS and for Johnny - an enormous asshole who is still somehow very charismatic - he’s perfect
of all the gaming characters you are introduced to so you can know that Shit Got Real when they die he might be my favorite
it’s very appropriate for the setting too, of course you got in over your head and it went bad
Jackie’s funeral, afterlife bar discussions, Clouds, the conversations you have with Johnny, all of it
compare it to something like Starfield, which also had a massive launch that made people very upset but has basically fallen completely off the radar
people knew it was worth sticking with
Starfield’s destination was never going anywhere good
Yeah, the bones of something amazing were there day one.
It was a lot like Witcher 3, which had a horrendous launch (They even made fun of it in the real version of the card game) and it's now one of the best games ever.
CDPR can still tell a good story, and it didn't come from ShatGPT.
Keanu's work in Phantom Liberty is so damn good
