CHARACTERS - Day Nine: Cassandra
This is the last of the (major) characters I wrote during my time on Dragon Age. I could go into others, and considered moving onto Stray Gods... but I feel like fewer would be interested, and I honestly can't keep up the pace. So let's make this the last, for now.

Did you have any hand in her writing for Dawn of the Seeker?
I adore Cassandra and was admittedly crushed when I couldn't romance her. So it goes! She's no less wonderful for it.
But I really loved her she's my 2ne favorite after Dorian and I loved it when she said she knows I'm not a believer but I'm still her friend
It's kind of weird for me, because I actually enjoyed a lot of her character overall. I liked the overly serious but secretly romantic take.
She's deep, strong and fragile at the same time, brave with a romantic side.
One of my favourite characters
Was work divided character-wise in Kotor as well?
Btw, do you know if this work distribution with having a writer responsible for a character is a Bioware thing or is it common in other studios as well?
Thanks!
I picked it up a month or so ago. I'm adjusting to the visual novel/comic style of gameplay, but in love with the choice-driven narrative. I wish more games kept true to this style of storytelling.
I'm sure even if he was written by Mary Kirby in Origins, you were still the unseen hand guiding what you wanted him to become.
Loghain's character is what I want for most villains: depth and conviction.
Now, to be fair, Jennifer told me straight up when we began that writing romance wasn't her forte, but she'd give it a go.
See, I mentioned previously that a romance arc inherently limits the kinds of stories you can tell with a companion.
Thankfully, there are still many many stories this can accommodate. 😊
Well, Jennifer DID warn me. She'd written Cassandra as a serious, self-righteous, pious woman who put the Inquisitor on a messianic pedestal. Romancing her meant changing her view of you.
Cassandra is a delight, I think she's one of my favourite bioware characters and romance options - largely because of what you outlined here. She occupies a really unique space.
