Yeah, I'm pretty sure that he took the surprised "oh!" I made when she told me as my being upset, and that now we were going to berate this poor woman together. When that was clearly a mistake, he crumpled pretty quickly.

The guy was a shriveled little goon who clearly expected me to join in, for some reason. If it'd been some big dude or maybe a karen, I dunno. I used to work in customer service, so I'm inclined to defend them, but I'm also very Canadian. 😅
