You might be able to vote in council ( local ) elections. I know non-citizens can in my state (Lutruwita/Tasmania)

From what I’ve seen the Aussie labor is about equal to left of the NDP. Aussie labor currently has a leader in line with their socialist roots which has been not a reality of Singh

It's extra ironic when you consider that the Canadian Liberals aren't exactly as liberal as they once were, and the NDP aren't exactly as labour-focused as they once were either... but neither has reached the level of irony that the Australian parties have, so I don't broach the topic here. 😅
