In complete earnestness this 2024 Guardian article does an overview for housing (and hints at some CBD buildings). But the TLDR is: We are SO BAD and SLOW at regulating insulation for cooling

My daughter lived in the UK for 11 years. When she finally came home to a Canberra winter, she declared that she was colder than she had been in her entire time away.

I’m Canadian and spent ten years in Japan. I swear the only time I was warm in winter was in the bath tub. It was neck deep and you could keep turning on the gas to reheat the water. Outside of the tub my bones were cold.

There's a UK archeologist I follow who lived in Ottawa for a few years. When he moved back home, he built a house Canadian -style, since he'd never been as warm as when he was in Ottawa 🤣
