Narratives that have to die:
- Reform is only a protest party
- Labour know what they are doing
- It's all the media's fault
- What happens now doesn't matter because the next GE isn't until 2029
- Nobody cares about Brexit any more
- It would be impossible to rejoin the EU
- There is no money

Where is the action?
Countering lies,
Publicising success
Explaining why extreme right will not benefit working class
Reference was to blaming of MSM rather than heart searching and policy review
Not more of the same faster but change of direction.
Messages on damage of WFA & PIP need to be heard.
I fear we can no longer avert a crisis. We have to go through it.
They know. They like it about as much as you do, but have to play the long game and hope it works.
It’s not.
It does, but not hugely.
They do.
It’s not, but it is bloody difficult.
I’m right with you on this…
Some not.
This is true - as these results make very clear.
The EU **will not offer it** unless it's the settled will of every party that could form a government.
Pretending otherwise is daft.
It would be a popular move, if the damage of Brexit were clearly, frequently and consistently called out first to roll the pitch.
Only a fraction of voters still believe that Brexit was net positive.
The EU are not offering it. They won't any time soon.
Why?
Because the Tories/Reform - the likely alternative government - are implacably opposed
They won't waste time, effort and diplomatic capital on negotiations that will be stopped on a change of gvmt
There is no telling what the EU might or might not be open to until we ask.
Not asking is insanity.
Instead, what we can and should aim to do - and where Labour deserves to be roundly criticized - is blame the current economic shitshow on the Tory Brexit, and aim to make gradual step by step improvements to our current relationship.
