There's probably six months to a year of negotiations left to actually get it over the line. Yesterday was the beginning of that process, not the end.
And after all that time and effort we'll only be marginally ahead of where we are now, but Labour will have faced endless "betrayal" claims.
That's the real impediment here. Labour cannot afford to plot a 10-15 year course on Brexit if their progress during the first 5 years guarantees they won't get the next 5-10 to finish the job.
