Very true! I was unemployed for quite a while following redundancy, worked really really hard to land a job, and felt like I wasn't worthy of Labour notice despite the huge amount of tax and party subs I've paid over the years. It's frustrating!

It's also othering to people who do work but who aren't part of nuclear families - single people, LGBT people, couples who are childless through choice or for other reasons. I'm tired of the constant implication that we don't count.
