I find this very depressing. I had high hopes for Tesla. I even had made a deposit on a Model 3 before they came out (I changed my mind and got a Chevy Volt instead). They did revolutionize the auto business, which is good.

Last month in Toronto, a speeding Tesla crashed into a guardrail, killing two occupants ~ including two brothers, and seriously injuring a fifth. By the time the firefighters were through, the car was a shell.

I've ridden in one Tesla as a passenger once. It was hard for her to keep her eyes on the road when she was trying to navigate the menus. A few months later, on a trip out of town, she got in a wreck. Totalled. 2 weeks ICU, 5 weeks in a SNF & 6 weeks in a rehab hospital. Drives a prius now.

I used to be a Tesla fan boy, you know back when I thought Leon was going to save the world, but the Tesla cars are extremely safe as far as chassis, airbags, adas, probably the safest in the world BUT they are incredibly fast and quick, instant torque. Not the safest thing for the public.

Many contributing factors to Tesla fatalities.

Too much power (torque and speed), perfect battering ram due to the low center of gravity and armored battery packs (danger to other vehicles), driver inattention from false safety of “autopilot” just to name a few.
