When I was younger, I don't think I fully comprehended this and what it truly meant. Now, as an adult in my late 30s, having lived in multiple cities, states, countries and through multiple government chaos..community-building is so obviously the path forward.

1/4 I’ve noticed some weird changes here in the last few weeks. I’m sensitive to sounds and chaos when shopping. I avoid when it’s busy. I can be in crowds and noise when most people are kind of going the same way like a music festival. But stores can be rough.

2/4 I’ve been using Costco to judge the mood. A week or two ago Costco was full but it was quiet. If I closed my eyes I’d hear fridge hums, wheels and rarely whispers. It was creepy. Everyone was pleasant but quiet. Not even families talking. I haven’t felt like that. It’s hard to describe.

3/4 We were there again yesterday. It was packed again and not quiet. But it wasn’t bothering me. It wasn’t chaos. I heard kids laughing. I heard couples discussing purchases. Nobody was bumping into me. People were smiling. Three people made small talk with me which never happens.
