I love stacked violin charts when you have to show lots of results at once.

And if it's non-academic, no one will walk up to you afterwards to complain that you were using them with non-continuous data.

Stacked bar would be my preference (sorry!) but horizontally with disagree on the left and agree on the right. If you’ve got a bunch of them, I’d sort them vertically them on % strongly agree, & optionally include a table column on the right hand side with a sum of agree + strongly agree.

Oh, sorting them is a great idea, that would help the organization prioritize the items that people most strongly agreed were concerns. Okay, maybe I just need to get over myself and do the stacked bar approach 😅

The one disadvantage of stacked bars is that you either need to include ‘don’t know / no preference’ or rebase the percentages to exclude them, but I do find them helpful for scale-based stuff. (Or I did when I worked in market research, I’m a code monkey now haha)

Yeah, we have a "not applicable to me" category I'll need to deal with, but that's fine, I think I could just set those off to the side or set them as the bottom category and grey it out. I'll play around with it!

Top 2 (strongly + agree) minus bottom 2 (strongly + disagree) can also be an interesting metric, and can help highlight polarising items (where lots of people agree, but also lots of people disagree)

Horizontal for sure. I like the idea of collapsing into three, that makes it more legible for me. I usually struggle to interpret them because there's just so much info.
