The trend is still in Bluesky's favour. X is still larger but very regularly Bluesky easily eclipses it in terms of research being shared. Linda Yaccarino claimed X had 600m users in April. Bluesky has 36m accounts created in total.

they’ve gone from “clearly uniformed” to “partially uniformed” to “in no way identifiable” in like three weeks

“I’m a lawyer and I’m going to give you the legal term for what’s happening: It’s fucking ridiculous.” @zellnor.bsky.social

It’s so easy to be an artist. You just do it. That, of course, is why it’s so hard to be an artist. You just have to do it. People despise how artistic courage highlights their own cowardice. Thus, crave the art, despise the artist. my random thoughts on it, better said by all the ppl in history

While we’re rallying around Lander, who’s been a lock for my top 2 as long as he’s been in the race, I love this video he did about disability access on NYC transit

Deep cut on the reference …

I’m calling it: Nobody should be reporting this without indicating that they have not substantiated the 413 percent number in literally any way.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles

What do we call it when masked federal agents detain the leaders of our cities??

And the person who turned up to support him with no notice is the Muslim dude who have cross endorsed each other and who the msm has been going into overtime to cast him as antisemitic

yes.

For people calling what Brad Lander did today a stunt: (1) He does weekly shifts at immigration court - that's just who Brad is. (2) Even if it was a stunt, who cares? We want politicians to put their bodies on the line -- make a scene to draw attention to what Trump's admin is doing.

Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

Just days ago, Brad Lander called me to interpret for an Arabic-speaking asylee whose case was approved, yet ICE was still harassing him inside the building. Brad personally escorted him out to safety. He does this kind of work quietly, every day.

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander was just arrested by Trump’s ICE agents because he asked to see a judicial warrant. This is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice. Release him now.

Whew. After all the drama with this damn survey, my initial check of the data is that 🌈we're okay🌈. Demographics look good, descriptives look good, and some interesting things emerging - e.g. people in reentry ranked concerns about finding friends & building relationships higher than other needs.

I have a survey with a matrix of Likert items (strongly disagree to strongly agree) about different challenges in reentry. What are some good ways to visually display the results? 🤔 It's for a nonprofit audience, so does not need to be something very academic, but I want it to be useful.

When Trump finally dies there will be calls for civility and “respect for the office” from even his harshest critics and I’m telling you right now I plan on saying things so harsh they might knock the earth off its axis

My organization published several new reports today on a study of "meaningful first appearance" - facilitating meetings between defense attorneys and their clients prior to arraignment. This strategy can reduce the use of bail and promote least restrictive release. islg.cuny.edu/resources/pu...

As a 52-year-old, I grew up with domestic right wing terrorist organizations threatening violence daily, and blowing up buildings and killing people periodically, throughout my whole political life: it was the anti-abortion movement.

Read this thread by David. Then come back for a story about the radicalization of one state’s GOP that illustrates David’s point.

A lot of university lecturers have no formal training in teaching.

met a neuroscientist who trained an LLM on thousands of parables and was stunned by its capacity to interpret. no human could have done it, they said. a lot of ai amazement is people brushing against the humanities, being unable to imagine the scope of our work, the time it takes, the skills we have

Hawt damn, what a get.

An absolute HONOR to have these two legends joining our team at Darrington. Daggerheart is here to stay, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next 🔥

BREAKING: A federal judge in Massachusetts (the Reagan-appointed William Young) has declared the Trump administration's cuts to NIH grants — ostensibly over Trump's EOs on gender ideology and DEI — are "illegal" and "void." He's ordering many grants restored.

After ruling the NIH grant terminations illegal, Judge Young ended the hearing with an eye-opening speech. “This represents racial discrimination, and discrimination against America’s LGBTQ community. That's what this is. I would be blind not to call it out. My duty is to call it out. And I do so.”

well I freaking love this. Just shared it with my whole work team!

This guy point for point debunked all the shit the GOP is saying and went into detail about the shooters politics. Glad to see the CBS Logo which means the media is reporting on it. Let's see who ducks and dodges these uncomfortable facts for their Republican bosses And this might be relevant

I know a lot of folks like this account. But this is a wild, and unhelpful, exaggeration--it's a resistance version of sean spicer. It veers into #resistanceporn and trades accuracy for clout, like other "blue maga" grifters on here. Pls consider finding other sources of inspiration/news/motivation

Hey maybe this is a hive mind thing: I love all seasons of the Pandemic Legacy boardgames. What else would I love in the same vein? (I’ve already played Seafall, Betrayal Legacy, and gloomhaven/frosthaven)

This is kinda the long and short of it

The first rule of not cocking up your life is "if you are taking advice you can't understand from someone, make sure their head is on the block too", this is not media illiteracy, this is a basic failure to operate the human condition

I'm rereading the Night Watch and a scene that always makes me tear up is Sam Vimes going through each person he knows will die in the revolution and how they were largely schlubs and losers who never expected to do anything heroic. "But you'll rise lads, you will rise" Never would show in summery
