1/2 My view on potential welfare cuts:
If a government drives people who are unwell into exploitative and insecure work, the illness doesn’t go away.
We'll see more people on waiting lists, visiting food banks, & pushed into services that are past breaking point.

I can say with honesty that all my years of working hard, paid and voluntary, have left me exhausted, both physically and psychologically.
These cuts could finish me.

Fluctuating physical health conditions or supporting frequent health & physio appointments? Paying for extra support?Unachievable without understanding
Something severely lacking in Labour.

If you drive ill people into inappropriate work, they will become more ill.
If you force people with my illness #M.E into work that is too much for them, they will become permanently more ill. When I first became ill I drove myself on,until I dropped.
I hope I can one day. Threats & attacks don't make that more likely.
Some ill & disabled people will never be well enough to work. Government rhetoric implies their lives therefore have no value. Surely you don't believe this?
all they can do is drive me to suicide — just like blair did back in the day.
At the same time, we need to rebuild the social safety net so people are healthy and feel secure.
Access to GPs, affordable childcare, affordable bills - these all play a role.
It could solve a lot of problems for them and for us.
They should at least lay it on the table.
Members of the wider Labour Movement need to reclaim the political arm from the current Thatcherite cabal and insist on it reflecting and enacting a modern, realistic version of democratic socialism.
Also how many jobs are temporary? And how that affects rental rights ! Ppl won’t rent properties out to someone who’s unemployed/in temporary work. We need more council 🏘️ . The list is too long of what needs to change! 😞
1. Diverse range of jobs available everywhere in the country.
2. Safety from being worse off if the job doesn't work out.
3. Front loading advantages from being in work.
Labour is now doing the opposite.
