A gentle reminder that if we miss the 1.5°C target (and we certainly will), the next target is 1.51°C and not 2°C. We need to keep fighting.
Every tonne of CO₂ emitted makes the job of future CO₂ removal harder, and every 0.01°C of temperature increase makes the world more chaotic and dangerous.

If you want change, help people make it personal.
I have little hope we can fix that.
And it's great you're already putting the focus on the future removal of carbon from the atmosphere - some act as if even discussing that was somehow morally reprehensible...
Trumpers are like… awesome, I get warmer winters.
I really think humans are not going to make it. We just are not collectively smart enough.
no cares.
no worries.
no more MAGAts or climate deniers.
😑🤦🏼♀️😡

Are any scientists seriously suggesting that the average of the next 10 years will be lower than the previous 10 years?
It would be great to have a list of names of scientists claiming this.
unfortunately, the ones not born yet will suffer the most.
Also China is still building new coal plants weekly! How does that get fixed?
Your respective worldviews differ considerably:

Neither do millions of American Christians who believe they will be raptured to Heaven any minute now...
Unlikely a priority for the next 4 years but one can hope.
Businesses pollute way more than I do.
Scientists are going to have to settle into their role as Cassandra in the approaching catastrophes, or else go nuts.
Until we power with cleaner solar & wind
See below that fossil fuels & GHGs are mentioned
It’s not intended for us mainstream media readers just like National Health, Education or Transport reports have their jargon.
I don’t really see your pt given media explain it
Also animal agriculture: methane from cows accounts for 5%. And Methane does not break down nor is easily sequestered like CO². We're f*cked. The kids will not be okay.
the majority of them, in that one country, voted in that guy(and you know which one I’m talking about).
there is actually 0.0% chance of someone just “not knowing” accepting ignorance is objectively worse
Formula of success: Ft=txT+0,01 (x imbezile mankind IQ).
Zynism off.
This also of course includes designing things to help curb the rise, but no treaty is going to work anymore.
Let's do something practical about it across every industry & celebrate victories instead of copypasta "if we reach X degrees Y happens"
I'm confident scientists have figured it out, I wanna hear from them instead
Sadly with the recent occurrence in the US this month, 1.51C is long gone before it happens. People in the US need a crash course in Climate Change, but I doubt that will happen until Florida is half under water :(
Every 0.01 degree makes a difference.
Scientists said it is too late and it seems countries are looking at geoengineering.
Something about releasing agent in the clouds through planes & manipulating the weather? 🤔
Right?
Thank you for the reminder.

There is also no sign, that emissions are ging to fall.
The talk of 1.5 is ridiculous. Even 2 degrees is very very unlikely.
We are loosing right now, while some are spreading fairy tales of 1.5 as if we still had 2015.
Please stop that and start to explain the situation, we are in. We need a clear and honest diagnose.

They could frame it from the perspective of:
- Island Nations losing their land to the sea.
- People dying like in Spain
- Crop failure due to drought, floods etc.
Also, communism was even worse for the environment. Just ask the Aral Sea.
It's not about net zero or absolute zero
Every extra ton is going to have a negative effect
