Saw him once at the uncommercialised artists nirvana that was Barclaycard presents British Summer Time in Hyde Park. View from the American Express VIP section was apparently legendary
Why are people having a go at the BBC? They just want to show his set, he clearly doesn't want them to show his set, such is life, his choice vs their choice, neither are right or wrong. His daft comment about it being in corporate control is up to him but it clearly isn't. Hey ho.
Neil Young turned up at a concert and announced he would be playing his new album and not the greatest hits...(The crowd became agitated at this) However, at the end of the set he paused & told crowd "Now I'm going to play something you've all heard before (cheers)
He played the new album again...
Reading Neil's comments, it seems his issue is with the BBC showing the whole set during the live coverage & on iplayer, which they do for all the performances on the main stages.
I mean, if that's his red line then fair enough, but I'm not going to agree that it constitutes 'corporate takeover'.
Not so subtle dig here from the BBC
"His performance came 12 years later than planned, after he'd originally been forced to pull out through injury after cutting his finger making a sandwich."
