The few times I've had access to Nextdoor has shown me too many people who are bored and deranged by their empty lives, and just crave someone to do violence to kids, continuously, mostly so they won't be bored anymore.

I frame it as this free-floating community anxiety from a perceived loss of control that has been crunched down into bigotry and rage by time and Systems of Power. Energy needs to go somewhere, so it gets blasted at whatever "evidence" is in range - brown kids or Pride or homeless people. Anything.

I heard someone recently describe Trump in similar terms. The narcissist brain can be happy briefly, but it never lasts, and the inability to become satisfied means he's miserable more often than not.

(The only good thing about his military parade is how miserable he's going to be watching miles of slow-moving, identical tanks drive past him, with no cheering crowds and no one seig-heiling him. He'll fall fast asleep after the first 30 minutes.)

people are complaining about the potential damage to their trucks these children could do in disgust.

I, with my foot level life, already see cars as weapons/power projections but people are increasingly mask off about it; the pleasant fiction is wearing off and they're just tanks now.
