It’s Volunteers Week!

John is transcribing letters sent by Mervyn Crawshay to his wife Violet during the First World War. In his letters Mervyn talks about living conditions, attacks they are sustaining, and sends lists of clothing and equipment which he’d like her to send to him in France.
