It’s collections week at the Archives The work of cataloguing local authority agenda and reports isn’t particularly photogenic! But it is an important task, ensuring these series of records are fully accessible to the public. Here are some newly labelled boxes, ready to be shelved. Very satisfying!

Mae’n wythnos casgliadau yn yr Archifau Nid yw gwaith catalogio agenda ac adroddiadau awdurdod lleol yn wneud am lun da! Ond mae’n dasg bwysig sy’n sicrhau bod y cyfresi yma o gofnodion ar gael i’r cyhoedd. Dyma nifer o focsys sydd newydd gael eu labeli yn barod i’w leoli ar ein silffoedd. Da iawn!

Work on the William Burges plans & drawings of Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch continues in our conservation studio This is a ground plan of the castle, showing the site, along with the canal and dock feeder beyond the outer castle walls Thanks to the @thenmct.bsky.social for supporting this work

200 years ago today, on 10 June 1825, local industrialists and landowners obtained an Act of Parliament for building a tram road down the Llynfi valley to Porthcawl Bay, and improving the Bay through the building of a dock. Here are some of the Dock plans held at Glamorgan Archives.
