This remains imho the wrong strategy. Reform voters will always push for more. And Farage is justified when he keeps putting immigration at the centre of his campaign.
Labour needs to attack Farage where he is weak, instead of following his narratives.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is preparing tougher measures on immigration to stem a record flow of arrivals across the English Channel and stave off the threat posed by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party after it made sweeping gains in this week’s local elections.

Hansard will provide the ammo, somebody just needs to put it in the pistol and start firing.
(Metaphorically speaking)
The right wing press will punish them anyway for something else but they have never won without occupying the centre& holding onto moderate tories.
They mist also act on foreign donations, media control etc.
It was the same with the Tories when they went authoritarian & Brexity.
The only exit for Labour is VONC on Starmer and back to basic Labour values, away from Blue Labour.
However, Labour have difficulty in changing leadership & Labour Together has all the money.
So…..🤷🏼♂️
It’s not neoliberal.
And free press, independant press should be funded with public money.
It’s not neoliberal.
Because I don’t.
The same thing as what happened with the Tories.
Labour supporters are about 50:50 social conservatives and social liberals.
The social conservatives are in control along with the money and donations in Labour Together.
It’s just terrified of the media and therefore believes that appeasement and a race to the bottom is the only way forward.
It’s lost its identity, along with many reasons to vote for it.
Question is what the donors are.
But they don’t vote in the same numbers as left-leaning electors, so my bewilderment re. its strategy remains.
It did get Labour a seemingly oxymoronic wafer-thin landslide at the last GE and I understand there’s little point in perpetual opposition, but appeasing the unappeasable isn’t working.
Oh dear.
This is what happened with the Tories.
It’s an open goal
So that’s not going to happen as the Labour members adore them.

That is some real fuzzy logic.
The Tories are no longer the focus … it’s the fascists funded by Skum and Putin.
The right way would be to reframe the issue, by way of values, and provide the fitting narrative.
Or it slides straight into fascism. This racial slide can be seen in the USA. Because it never stops with the victims (refugees), but goes over to the opposition.
In the end, extremists are all about the comprehensive, brutal preservation of power and the enrichment of society.
You can’t win against Reform by copying their policies. You have to fight back.
Fascists take, take, take & always demand more. You can't bargain with these people.

he would attract more votes from Reform.
All they are is
Semi intelligent racists
Leading ignorant racists .
The press here are desperate for Reform. It’s depressing.
It’s all a big game for them. They have no interest, any of them as far as i can see, in ‘speaking truth to power’.
They should be outraged by Reform not pushing them.
We need a scandal too big to get ignored or covered up.
Their true colours have to be exposed.
But a Labour Govt really should try to rise above this lazy, divisive sh!t and demonstrate some sort of progressive policy agenda.
Labour have done loads more in 10 months than most people know about but it’s never talked about.
Waiting lists, minimum wage, employment rights….
Unfortunately this only worsens as Reform’s stock rises 😳
The Tories can put their mates in positions of power and no one bats an eye. If Labour try it we’ll be told that they are dictators or Stalin or something.
The right wing press control public opinion.
The BBC desperately needs to be politically neutral. It also needs to have all its current ‘balance’ agenda scrapped.
Labour is toast anyway if they don’t start taking risks.
😳
But if Labour don’t change their tune on the EU & Trump by the GE they are a) idiots and b) will have lost mine & countless other votes.
The government can “stop the boats” by being responsible about migration, the benefits and opportunities for all and be honest about Brexit, the cost/loss and Farage who agitated for the referendum and broke Britain in the process.
There's no point in aiming for the legs. Always aim for the torso.
Almost like the system is the real problem…
