it also has to be by a doctor with a Medicare practicing number.

Elly and I realised the only way we could get it done was for her to drop her trousers in front of two different doctors on one of her return visits (and pay full price for each visit) :/

for all intents and purposes her passport has sufficed, we've gotten her name change sorted with NSW BDM but the cert still says M, nobody has ever asked to see it overseas; it's just the passport they need.

Yup, I never ended up having to show birth-certificate for my green card. It’s just frustrating knowing it’s still there on my birth certificate. Also, just in case I do need it for something when W/we finally get to where W/we’re going.

But most likely just gonna have to wait until I can visit Au

My interpretation of the current doc seemed to suggest the doctor could be overseas? (But more than aware I could be mistaken).

Yeah I was under the impression that was gonna be my only other option which is, I don’t even f’ing know when that’s gonna be possible.

FYI, there's a list of foreign authorised witnesses to take statdecs. includes foreign lawyers, accountants, etc.

Thanks. At this point though, the fact it’s an estimated 10 week turn around time. I’m probably gonna have to wait until W/we resettle and just travel to Aus and handle it there.

Will your surgeon sign an affadavit testifying to the completion of your surgery, and would that even be acceptable to the NSW gatekeepers?

The issue is that affidavit needs to be witnessed by an authorized person which is either getting the surgeon to do this at an embassy or get someone to visit the surgeon and either way that’s $$$ I don’t have. And I need a second doctors affidavit too, so twice $$$
