Tbh some devs are really cool about this stuff. I've seen developers watch speedruns of their games and are impressed with how players overcome the coding and glitch past huge sections.

I will say. I respect folks playing games they love, in different ways, to give themselves a challenge. But my initial reaction will always match this comic.

I dont know if I speak for anyone else, but I have two good reasons for you:
1. because if you spend all of your life doing things the obvious way, you become...boring
2. people can withstand a great deal of challenge/insanity/torture without protest when they knowingly and freely invited it

its like the paradox of player choice, wherein players want the "freedom" to do pretty much exactly what everyone else is doing. The people who benefit most from player freedom are either ignorant or radical; people who do things that make no sense.
