You got me! All kidding aside. As a fellow member of the commonwealth, a simple “the UK supports Canada as an independent country” would have been noticed and appreciated here. Instead, there is a simmering anger.

I'm not from the Commonwealth so won't mix myself up in this too much, but I think both should be done.
Anyway, in my country we love Canada (WWII, you guys did us a solid) and lots of people are outraged about what Trump did to you guys and started boycotting stuff like Amazon etc.
This thing with Zelenskyy is waking up even more people to start doing something.
So, I see Zelenskyy and Canada as the same category: attempted to be bullied by Trump, but coming out looking like the classier one and gaining more and more support from people waking up cumulatively🍁💜🌻

We felt there was no way that Trump would try something like that, despite his bluster.
Bottom line: we simply didn't take it seriously.
