There’s an escape clause where a dishonorable discharge will void all veteran benefits, and — guess what — getting discharged for being transgender just happens to be categorized by Project 2025 as a dishonorable discharge.

Not at all, I don’t know anything about their case - dishon discharge is such a big deal I just find it difficult to accept the military could do that to someone just for serving while trans
What they can do is General discharge or Other Than Honorable discharge. Neither are DIShonorable, but neither are honorable either and as such can remove access to things like the GI Bill, VA benefits, and Military Pensions, based on length of service.
