He did, something like that but he deferred most of his money up front so they could sign other players, they’ll be paying him for decades, the whole Bobby Bonilla deal. I just feel is crazy, at what point is it too much and ticket prices can’t sustain it. Small markets can’t do it.

Small markets don't feel a need to do it either - Last real small market to win it all was KC, but they all make a very nice profit. If they didn't you wouldn't see teams sell for a billion dollars. I think technically he could. There are more games than in football, and Yankee/Dodgers tickets are some of the most expensive in the MLB.
Also long term deals don’t usually happen in football. Mahomes was outlier, and his deal was formatted like a MLB contract.

That’s a fair argument. But do you think HE does? There are not a ton of baseball players that move the needle on marketability. Ohtani gets you the Asian market. I could see Aaron Judge being a major draw. Is Juan Soto in that class? I doubt it, but good on him for trying.

I think Soto COULD be the next Judge. He’s a few years younger, and they were a dynamic duo this last year.
He can bring the Dominican market. But arguably Ohtani carries the Asian market and that’s more significant.
