There is no parity in MLB. The table is tilted. Four teams with $2B on the books doesn't make a league. It looks more like pro-wrestling than a real sport.
I agree and blame MLB owners. Over half the teams are owned by billionaires and most refuse to invest in their teams like the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets and Phillies.
I'm a Mets fan. I practically bleed orange and blue. This is not the answer the team needs, how much this money could've been spent on better acquisitions.
NHL has a flat salary cap. Having an owner with more money only provides marginal benefits like facilities and equipment. Thatβs why non-traditional market teams like the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes are actually competitive
yeah you know how it is in the new MLB.. they got the DH in both leagues now so it isn't as much a negative as it used to be... i personally do not like the DH in the NL
Will this make the Mets World Series contenders? History suggests signing big free agents has been very hit or miss. Hopefully he's not another Carlos Beltran, and can be consistently productive and not go down looking to end our playoff run.
This man already played for the Yankees and the Mets are trying to act like he's wowed by the history and culture of the New York Mets. He was going to go to whoever paid him more, and he didn't care who his teammates are or where he lives, as long as he gets a few more dollars...
Over 15 years he will be making more. $3.5 million a year more than Yankees offered to a total of $52.5 million extra. Itβs not a small difference Iβm sure I can live off $3.5 million a yearβ¦π

Is this a hoax?!!
Over paid but that's the game π΅ π°
why would I get invested in a competition between billionaires to see who can spend the most money?
What a fucked up world.
