Thank you Shawn. My current gripe as a pedestrian downtown is overly tinted windows: I frequently struggle to make eye contact with drivers - their behaviour is literally opaque to me 😭

I would think that ability to modify vehicle to become some kind of Franken-vehicle during weekend garage-project is also not safe.
Automotive engineers spent years, leveraged decades of research, to make street-legal cars.
But « Joe » knows best 🤬
I vastly prefer Quebec’s rules & enforcement on window tinting. Especially as a frequent pedestrian & cyclist, you might have to rely on cues you get from seeing the driver’s face…
The re-imagine Yonge St plan calls for far greater density in North York, there was talk if bike lanes on Yonge but I think that has been changed. Increasing density without addressing the ability to get in and out of the downtown core will only increase congestion on sunways and roadways.
It used to be illegal, just like running red lights used to be illegal, but a few years ago everyone just collectively decided to start ignoring those laws and the cops shrugged. Power to the people, I guess?
Cars have deeply tinted windows at the back and sides so the tinted glass around the driver doesn't look illegal. It is, in Canada. Buy a US made vehicle and there's no rules.

So here I am trying to cross the street and staring at a black panel. Is there even a driver in there?
Some enforcement would be spectacular. #ottawalkers
