Watching this unfold with increasing alarm from Canada. Threats of annexation (Canada, Denmark, Panama), tariffs and threats - regardless of outcome, allies can no longer trust the USA. Even with a return to normalcy, it will take decades to recover good will.

They do, actually. Federal judges can cite folks for criminal contempt, and send law enforcement to arrest them.

Unfortunately, the law enforcement in question is the U.S. Marshals, who are under DOJ.

You’re completely correct, up until this fully occurs the system is doing what it was specifically designed to do: to use checks & balances and procedure to stop tyranny. Until the courts make a ruling about separation of powers and it is ignored and enforced by Trump anyways, the system stands.

It really is so unreal to think that our government is so easy to topple. The whole system is designed to work only if everyone agrees it'll work. It only takes about half the participants to go "nah" and the system fails. It seems like each day, society balances on a knife edge.
