Keeping protests peaceful Is terribly difficult because a few people can screw up an otherwise overwhelmingly peaceful affair. But to say that these few can cancel out the 1st Amendment rights of everyone else makes no sense either.

Taking folk who aren't legally here+deporting them is a political question. You may be for or against it, but it is completely legal to deport them.HOW YOU DO SO is what makes it constitutional or unconstitutional.Things like habeas corpus for example are crucial protections for us all.

I've been protesting since 1979 and the big issue is always the difference between performative protesting that seems to feel better and meaningful protest that lead to results. I've always argued for the latter.

I'm sure you will have no problem making friends and acquiring allies in your efforts to make things better. Good luck.

Don't turn the U.S. military against you. THAT'S my Line. Those people took an oath to defend and protect the Constitution. They're our friends and allies in all this and we need to not drive off powerful allies in this effort to defend our Constitutional system. Lose them, (probably) lose it all.

Absolutely. Agents provocateur were used by the govt in the 1960s. It's a known tactic to create crack down justifications. But it's also nothing that the peaceful protesters for ages haven't had to overcome though.

I emphasize the word "peacefully" here in your efforts. Do not give them excuses to justify their actions. Make them use force against people who aren't.

As we said in the last Common Sense (and as anyone paying attention already knows) POTUS' move in Los Angeles is designed to provoke. He WANTS the federally-controlled show of force & he wants the confrontation (hence the careful use of key words "insurrection" and "rebellion"...

What poor form to repose your own stuff.

This started out as a June 6, 1944 social media post that got insanely out of hand. So I did it on our substack page instead. I'd say "enjoy", but it really ain't that kind of piece. dancarlin.substack.com/p/the-real-w...

Just a reminder, if you want an email when we put out a new show or have any announcements sign up for our Substack account at dancarlin.substack.com (it's free).

What an amazing thing to tell someone. Thank you so much. (But a large part of why it turned out that way was that audience. They were great...and so were their questions/comments!).

The entire point.

This is great. I've gotten so many requests to visit the more southern states that I hope folk come out and join me at the show!

New live dates. The South now! Pre-orders now available. Code is "ben". Atlanta, GA: www.ticketmaster.com/event/0E0062... Raleigh, NC: www.ticketmaster.com/event/2D0062... Austin, TX: tickets.austintheatre.org/12469/12470 Houston, TX: cph.evenue.net/events/an-ev... [cph.evenue.net] [cph.evenue.net]

New live tour announcement coming soon. Stay tuned!

Assuming the June 14th "no kings" protests happen, I hope you all find one near you and join in. I've heard (but don't know if it's true) that if only 3% of us show up it's a monumental force. Let's hope we can get there before too long!

Does the "show less like this" feature on BlueSky work? I keep using it...but seem to see as much stuff I asked to see less of than I did before saying that I wanted to see less of it.

I find myself getting upset about things a lot lately. There's so much happening in the world today that infuriates me.Then I realize that lots of others feel the same way but don't have all the blessings I have. And then I recall who made those possible:My listeners. And I want to thank you for that.

Public Service Announcement: Ep 11.26 of the Martian Revolution will post on Monday. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter
