Yes. Their reasoning is so lousy it has become glaringly obvious to a nobody like me (no legal expertise or prestigious degrees) that this court is acting as a partisan rubber stamp for right-wing interests.
I'm waiting for the kids to coin the name 'TEMU Supreme Court.'
I keep saying that these stupid jackasses...including all of Trump's clown show...keep saying "let them eat cake" to the most heavily armed populace in the history of the world.
"Craven horseshit" seems appropriate, and magnifies public cynicism of the court. I'm also deeply worried that good thinking judges will be demoralized by their legal thoughts wiped away.
The funny thing about this is that an arm of the conservative movement is now going to try to use this precedent in the upcoming years to do the same thing to the Fed
I think back to how shocked Roberts claimed to be about the backlash to his Trump immunity decision and how it indicated the degree of unctious lickspittles he must turn to inform him how the public and profession view his lazily corrupt court.
"Thus, to try and prevent Trump from replacing Powell with a Fox Business dipshit who changes interest rates by the hour, the Court appended a paragraph to its opinion asserting, no, he can’t do that ...."
It is wild how little respect John Roberts and company have for you. A first-year law student would have been embarrassed to write yesterday's opinion, which is probably why none of the justices in the majority even put their names on it https://ballsandstrikes.substack.com/p/the-supreme-court-really-expects
legit question, one im sure youve thought about. do you think there is anything trump could do, or try to do, that alito and thomas would oppose on any legal ground? it seems like there is no case too unhinged for them to sign on to. do you think there is any limit at all?
You referring to Trump as “the constitution’s most special boy” is the only thing that stopped me from crying and/or committing an act of violence over this bullshit, so thank you for that

Good luck with that.
But, at that point, F47 & Co will just disappear them to El Salvador or Pyongyang or Siberia or somewhere.
