Watching gamers figure out the whole inflation thing with game prices has been fascinating, makes me realise that different gaming eras have totally different experiences. We played and replayed those old hard games until we got good because games were expensive. - ThreadSky

I mean, you could just track down some old Toys R Us magazines and see what the games cost in the 90’s. Some of those prices were pretty high, at least here in the US.

I think a lot of the confusion is increased by American gamers cos their game prices were artificially capped at $60 for like 2-3 gens so they are rwactibh extra hard to the price adjustments

It's why the NES was the only console I had as a kid, and even that I had to fight for. My parents were on a shoestring budget and there was no way console games were fitting into it.

It's probably why I'm a PC gamer. DOS shareware was a steal by comparison.
