As an aviation engineer it saddens and frustrates me that social media "experts" crawl out of every corner minutes after the event to deliver their verdicts based on a few seconds of video. Leave it to the investigators.
Driven by media who want everything now, a breaking news moment. I used to act as a press liaison officer for an emergency service and was always getting chased. The very least I demanded was time to let relatives know asap, impossible with plane crashes but not car crashed. Mostly parasites.
Genuine question. Only heard show in patches this week. Has the Ballymena riots been covered in detail? Know there was a brief input from a journalist few days ago. An appalling and deeply worrying situation.
Also, while in London a couple of years ago I came across a suspicious scene at night. There was a dark viscous liquid in drops and drizzles on the street. I called the police thinking it was blood. And even though I had had a few, they treated me well.
It actually turned out to be transmission fluid from a mtorbike.I have had to deal with the Garda here in Ireland once or twice, and let me tell you, they are far from understanding. Even though your police are not perfect they are probably the best of a bad bunch.
While I wasn't able to listen today, hybrid work should be available to all workers who can actually avail of it. It would mean people could live further from major towns and cities, since they would maybe be willing for a longer commute since it might only be once or twice a week.
Many blue collar workers rarely go into the office and benefit from being away from it: gardeners, bin peeps, contractors, etc. but have to spend a day a week in an office, for meetings, admin etc.
Just listened to todays highlights, and I have an electric SUV, and the amount of technology that can see things around me that I can't I have never felt so sure my car is safe to pedestrians. That said Land Rovers and Range Rovers are a monstrosity!
Listening to the SUV discussion now. Have you considered the environmental angle? I read a book Volt Rush that talked about the extra metals required with bigger vehicles, extra fuel etc.
I worked for 40 years before retirement, never harder than when working from home. WFH may not suit all jobs, but it can be super productive when it does suit.
That's the only way that I can listen. Prior to 2013, the radio was for music 🎶 🎵. I got old and thought all new music is rubbish and discovered LBC. I'd rather be at work than at home but an accident dictated my life...

Sorry if that upsets disciples of Nige and his received opinions.
