just saw a headline about "Britain's most woke roundabout" and I think I'm done

The film I wrote, 'Chicken Town' , has a trailer & will be in cinemas June the 27th!

I found that Telegraph article about the family having to cut back on their five holidays a year and you'll never guess who the protagonists are... open.substack.com/pub/mrhenrym...

Very strange that all the press are using lovely smiley photos of Paul Doyle rather than the traditional brutal police mugshots.

The far right will, of course, treat the Paul Doyle case very differently from one where the accused is darker-skinned or foreign or both. The rest of us must not. That’s kind of the point.

I did 15,000 steps today. 6.5 miles. I’m proud of the progress I’m making one step at a time. #NeverGiveUp

ffs

1.33 million journeys daily and growing 📈

The eurosceptic right no longer wants to destroy the EU, but run it. This was inevitable and in many respects an own goal by the Tories. Britain would be incredibly powerful in the bloc right now.

I made a video essay explaining why, in my view, Israel is committing genocide under international law. I hope this helps frame the issue a little bit better and explain why there is a consensus among academics that this is indeed a genocide. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmCl...

Are the Tories facing political extinction? Kids with knives. Featuring the magnificent Raymond in Falkirk: “Badenoch would be better at playing the piano than running the Tories. And I don’t think she can play the piano.” tinyurl.com/4rrn2mkx

What George doesn't understand is that in the UK, we decided in 2020 that 'governing' was actually a tedious distraction from 'speculating about, and positioning for, the next general election'. It's core to our culture and it is *very* disrespectful to criticise it.

Indeed I did. He missed the Brexit reset debate & had his trotters up in Nice last week despite the scheduled recess being this week. I predicted that a lucrative US trip would turn out to be the reason. Call me Nostradamus.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Oh no. Musk resigns, and you're off next week....has LBC done its usual in picking a replacement...

For context. (Mystery Hour)

@mrjamesob.bsky.social @lbc.co.uk What a great caller Raymond is. I haven’t laughed and agreed so heartily with a caller since well,….whenever! Also makes a change to encounter someone over 75 who isn’t a Boris / Farage fanboy/girl. Radio gold James. 😂👏🏻

Is it just me, or has the @DailyMailUK become especially unhinged lately? I mean - what on earth does living in a cul-de-sac have to do with attempted murder?

What should frighten us all is that this is not common knowledge. This explicitly anti-life ideology is being successfully enacted in the US right now, and without unified pushback it will spread.

“Maybe I’m part of a similar phenomenon…” Nigel Farage, July 2024. apnews.com/article/tate...

The Secretary of State of a government that has repeatedly harassed Americans for exercising their free speech rights just announced "a new visa restriction policy that will apply to foreign officials and persons who are complicit in censoring Americans." This is aimed at Europe and Brazil.

Remember when it was ‘woke’ for students to object to a speaker or two being invited to their campus. I wonder how all the ‘anti-woke’ warriors will bullshit their way around what is actually being done *in their name*?

We still over-think his motivation/game plan. He’s filling his boots, even if it impoverishes his own base. That’s all there is. That’s all there ever was. (Great piece.) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

"What I don’t need, yeah, is: thank you Steve, for all you did on Brexit, right, here’s how to apply for a mid-ranking job in a corporate, because as soon as they Google "Brexit Hard Man Steve Baker", they know who I am and they don’t want me"

You do have to feel a bit sorry for Steve Baker. He put in the hard yards on Brexit and yet Dan Hannan, Matthew Elliott, Michael Gove, Gisela Stuart, Kate Hoey, Chris Grayling and others got the peerages. A load of others got knighthoods. Steve Baker, nothing.

This is actually relevant to something on the show...

Why the police had no choice but to pander to the liars, grifters & racist provocateurs who caused the Farage riots last summer. And why we should all be deeply concerned about what this means. tinyurl.com/4rrn2mkx

If I had to write ‘How They Broke Britain’ all over again, Nick Clegg would get at least a chapter. An agent of immeasurable harm.

You can tell the president has a Very Good Brain, Perhaps the Best Brain Ever? because his staffers are doing everything possible to hide the record of his solemn pronouncements.

I was uncharacteristically quiet here. Even by the very-different-from-the-radio-show standards of Full Disclosure. Testament to how fascinating Amanpour is.

Having just launched her own podcast, @camanpour.bsky.social switched studios to record ‘Full Disclosure’ with @mrjamesob.bsky.social where they explored the emotional and political terrain of her career. Listen to their conversation now on Global Player: www.globalplayer.com/podcasts/epi...

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I’m sure you won’t remember but we spoke on air a couple of years ago about whether you can copyright a voice and what AI could already do. Please read this. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

As the gullible simpletons go looking for conspiracies about what happened in Liverpool, a quick throwback to one of last year's best-sellers! We'll happily print a fresh one for anyone who wants one with free UK delivery here >>>

NEW: After an 86-day blockade of food into Gaza, starving residents are pictured being herded like livestock & surrounded by fencing and barbed wire as they await food parcels. This photo was posted in the last hour by Gaza-based journalist Motasem A Dalloul.

Trump is admitting two things here. The first is that he has been serving Russian interests by protecting Putin on numerous occasions. The second is that Trump is feeling pressure to be harder on Russia, which he really doesn’t want to do. Response: keep up the pressure!

Israelis protesting outside the foreign office in London in support of steps that the UK has taken against Israel over the Gaza war and calling for more. Chanting: “Starmer, Lammy pick a side: human rights or genocide” , “war planes, no! Sanctions, yes!”, “Israelis say: stop the genocide today”

🚨Matt Hancock and Three Conservative Peers Referred 60 Suppliers Onto the PPE COVID VIP Lane + ⚠️ Government admits that not all VIP suppliers have been ‘recorded’ and the true scale of its operation remains unknown My latest report for @bylinetimes.bsky.social ⤵️ bylinetimes.com/2025/05/27/c...

@mrjamesob.bsky.social @eleanorwalsh.bsky.social James, I've been banging on about this for a while to you, but repeated Covid illnesses really do impact the brain and attention span. Here's a thread by @catinthehat.bsky.social with just a few of the studies: threadreaderapp.com/thread/17638...

"Hate thy neighbour" is an interesting answer to Britain's inequality. ~AA

Farage: "Lucy Connolly should not be in prison... Understand, there were millions of mothers at that moment in time after Southport feeling exactly the same way. Connolly was imprisoned because she posted: “Set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards… if that makes me racist so be it.”

Let’s open Twitter and check the default feed, as a large number of Brits and public figures and the leader of the opposition will also do this morning! A strange mix of absolute certainty the Liverpool attack was false flag, Islamophobia, soft porn, and Christiano Ronaldo updates.

"I would simply have arranged *not* to be born in Nazi Germany"

An incredible and very funny clip. He's got nothing: no intelligence, no comprehension, no structured thought. Just the angry bitter wailing of his empty mind. What an embarrassment he truly is, and how embarrassed his advocates should be for promoting him.

Astonishing. Accompanied with beautiful photos by Lydia Goldblatt 👏🏼

The gulf between what London is actually like & how it is portrayed by terminally online, self-styled ‘patriots’ & their political heroes is absolutely incredible. I wonder how much it has to do with the city repeatedly electing a Muslim mayor… www.timeout.com/london/news/...

I have tried & failed to find appropriate words to describe this extraordinary article. Suffice to say that if you read it, you will never forget it. Or the little boy at its heart.

Not main point but very revealing that Laura Kuenssberg keeps on talking about the "child benefit cap" in *tax credits* (it's Universal Credit, and has been for most claimants for some time). Reflects both very poor briefing *and* her complete ignorance of the topics she asks questions about..
