Oh my God, I went and watched this a couple times in my late 20s because it was so good and so funny to me... I took others who did not seem to get it. Good reminder. I watch it tonight.
Just an aside. In Australia and a couple of other countries it was released aa A Night On The Town. I was no kid when I saw it but enjoyed it immensely.
There is the edited version and there was a remake a few years ago that didn’t get good reviews. I didn’t see it because I was against remaking it in the first place.
I got to see Albert Collins play live in a bar, once. I looked away for a sec & when I turned back he was RIGHT BEHIND ME staring me in the face--still playing guitar. I started to bop along & he moved to the next person and kept on till everyone was dancing.
It’s likely that D’Onofrio got the more significant role in Full Metal Jacket after establishing himself by landing the role in Adventures In Babysitting. I can’t imagine that the reverse would be the case.
I’ve long held there should be an inverted remake where a bunch of city kids trying to go into and out of a rural area with no cell service to rescue a stranded friend who took a bus to run away.
