I’m still puzzled how Config — an event tied to a for-profit product company — seems having ascended in the last few years as “the digital design event”.

Also, I personally feel like Config is a low-key rave at times and that vibe attracts a lot more people than the average stuffy conference.
There are other events focusing on other areas of UX that now seem niche.
It’s the ‘design event’ of today.
Not sure it will last long but for now I like the traction for new designers.
Does anyone know?
I agree on the 'free to watch' bit, and the fact they are _the_ design tool any designer use they (me) follow the keynote for the feature release, and the rest of the talks are a good bonus I guess.
