I’m noticing that companies are spoofing phone numbers to have the same area code as the one you have and I gotta say, if you try to call me from a Royalton, MN number I am absolutely not picking that call up.

As a country why do we allow this?
It is absurd that this is something we have to put up with.
Also kind of amazing, the imperative that i grew up with to pick up the phone is gone.
I got my cell number when I lived in the North Bay area, so it is very funny when I see a spoofed 707 number claiming to come from Elk, CA, which I know very well is about 3 buildings in remote North Coast country.
I got my first post college cell phone when I was living in a sparsely populated area code after graduating college and wow, it’s helpful for weeding out spam
Now that they closed down the outdoor Dairy Queen on the way to Little Falls there is nothing coming out of Royalton that I want to interact with, including Treasure City
my number is a Michigan number and its the exact same thing. if I get a call from 269 I don't even think about picking it up. if it's 502 (where I live now) I'm about 50-50 depending on mood
