The discussion of the Underworld also reminded me of the central dream sequence in GBS’ Man and Superman, where a bored Commendatore leaves heaven to visit a now enlightened Don Giovanni in hell. Heaven is not necessarily positive, nor hell negative; each had been placed where they might be happy.
