It's always so odd to me that the stereotypes of autism ALWAYS resort to an emotionless presentation when SO MANY OF US are /hyper/ emotional and suffer deregulation.
Like. Meltdowns are TOO much emotion as a result of overstim. That doesn't align with everyone being uncaring or robotic.

It's so an ongoing process to try and find a better balance in that and try to be more me, but it's difficult.
These are reflexive and an NT trait.
We stick out due to our lack of sheep sense and automatic following drive.
It doesn't make it something I want, but I understand the appeal to NTs.
Just because the veneer doesn't crack with typical emoting does NOT equate to no feelings. My son can present flat, but if you know him, his eyebrows and speech pattern deviations tell you the story of where he's at.
I'm chatty AND emotive.

It's been a process to help him regulate, and while we still struggle sometimes, he's come such a long way.
it's especially fun when mental health "professionals" do the same shit...

A. Not all autistic people have identical characteristics.
B. I tolerate some hugging
But also, you don't even have to go to the negatives like meltdowns. People on the spectrum often deeply care about others. They just express it in ways allists don't recognize.
It’s WELL past time they reciprocate. I get that they’re easily led ;that they never question what they’ve been taught . It’s time 4 them to learn 2 question
They need to question why they’d believe misinformation from those not of marginalized groups
I’m hell on wheels with the kamas (sickles) at karate . I’m famous for being able to spin them , and I help others learn how to do the Kama spins for our kama kata ( kata is a fight sequence with an imaginary opponent).
