It’s a “joke” that goes back way further than that. Literally decades. It just keeps getting recycled every time there’s a new setting president. Members of the public from the opposing party haul this out and replace the name of the president in question.
The thing that remains depressingly the same is that no one questions the premise that any particular president would be condescendingly paternalistic when speaking to Indigenous peoples.
I feel like that’s an insult to Eagles. Particularly if they’re already suffering from constipation.
That’s the problem with that particular joke. The “gotcha” is in still using an animal that could be interpreted as being noble. Which is kind of funny if you know anything about bald eagles.
They don’t really have the majestic screams that they’re often portrayed as using in film, which is usually a red tail hawk sound effect. And while they are certainly effective hunters, like any predator, their priority is on maximizing caloric intake while minimizing effort (caloric output).

I live in Montana, and the tribes here tend to be more liberal than the other rural voters.

My husband's sister and her husband live in Great Falls, where my husband is from. There are a lot of liberal Indians in Montana. Way more then there used to be.
I was trying to think of what I could have read and I think maybe it was about the tribes here in AZ prior to the election. The biggest issues is there are no voting polls on the reservations here and that makes voting very difficult. Yes, he does not think they should have citizenship.
There were lots of articles about how Mango Mussolini gained ground in several different minority communities, in 2024.
Misogyny is a possible factor for all other demographics (incl white), but I’m not sure about this demographic. Native American culture seems a little more complex on this axis.
I can explain; There's a lot of super (unfortunately) racist overly Christian elderly people that were boarding school survivors. These people are also notorious for somehow thinking us and Mexicans are also somehow a different race, it's kind of a wonder around reservations.Anyone under 40 seems ok

No, the majority of us did not vote for that mandarine. The polling numbers were not accurate. Many of those votes came from the Lumbee tribe(not a real tribe) and self-identified; a small percentage came from tribal voters. The other half did not vote.
Multi-Mara, since I can't post or tag you. Explain why tribes are opposing the Lumbee getting federal recognition. They don't have legitimate ties to other tribes, they don't have a tribal language, and they didn't exist in the pre-colonial era. This is discussed openly among many other Natives.
