Yea true. I just decided I will play it next year. Rn I just focus on finishing up replays I started this year but never got the chance. since I felt bad leaving them hanging all year long. Once I do that, I can focus on getting around to more new games like Metaphor.
Whatever you want whenever you want! Sometimes I have felt left out as I’m never playing the latest and greatest due to always wanting to get my games on a good sale and having limited gaming time each day but I don’t mind because I know I’ll enjoy those games whenever I’m able to get to them!
This thinking has single-handedly made me lose 99% of any potential FOMO
Self care and happiness are some of the most important things and if that means going to older, nostalgic things then go for it!!
While true, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to dodge spoilers in recently released games. It makes it difficult to play some games ‘fresh’, because people are so quick to talk about them and spoil details all over social media 🙁
I’ve always abided by this, but it is fun when what I want to play happens to be what everyone’s currently talking about, especially when it’s a series that was more niche before
It’s super fun as a longtime Stalker fan seeing the hype around Stalker 2 and how many people are getting into it now
Great advice. I started Zelda Breath of the Wild this year in August for the first time and I am almost done with it. Got Tears of the Kingdom for Black Friday can't wait. Also have a lot of hours on Animal Crossing even though 2020 is long going 😂
I just wish content creation allowed for a bit more flexibility here! It's tough to not follow new release trends and make stuff about older games when the audience is looking for newer titles. Doesn't invalidate the work by any means, but it makes it tough for the creator!
While I do play a few modern games, most of what I play is from the 2000s and earlier. I'm absolutely loving the Final Fantasy 6: T edition romhack and thoroughly enjoying it currently.
Been playing more Monster Hunter: World after the Wilds beta. Probably logged 100+ more hours than I already had on World. Play whatever you want. But really, if you’re on PC and playing world again (or still), get the ICE mod.

My favourite times are usually playing X game that came out 10+ years ago for the 100th time! 🎮
Then I find time to play a more recent release!
But yeah, completely agree. I'm currently playing Dragon Quest XI, and Ratchet And Clank: Crack On Time. Neither is new, but I love them both.
No lol
“I want to play persona 5, I guess I need to start from 1 since I haven’t played any of them”
And yes I know it’s not a continuous story, but I feel like I need to from a “game evolution” standpoint
Don't feel pressure to buy games day 1 even if I'm excited to eventually play them.
We're in a time now where there are adults playing games that weren't alive when some of the earlier consoles came around.
Makes for a new experience for those that aren't diehard stuck to good graphics. Personally, I enjoy pixel art.
