My current raiding main is an alt I picked up for fun in Pandaria Remix and fell in love with (ret paladin).
My real main? It was 2008, I had a free trial, my friends were all Horde, and someone told me hunters got a pet friend to help them fight. And Jezriyah was born.
She fell into my lap in Legion and fell in love with the aesthetic of Brewmaster monk. I than began to create a whole story arc for her owning her own tavern after Legion Invasion and the incidents of BFA to live a quiet life.
(I just wanted to see the DH intro but loved how much faster it was compared to my slow lock and blood dk. Also it took me less than one day to get that 'falling from a great height without dying' achievement.)
After reading "Lord of the Clans" when i was younger I wanted to be Thrall so badly I made an Orc Shaman and never looked back. So shaman has always been my go- to favorite.
Don't believe I would have enough characters to truly explain it to you. Paladin is my 1st main because I enjoy the gameplay, and the build up of the class, and flexibility. Outlaw Rogue is my 2nd main because it gives me the function of great exploration tools - and I have a gun. Waiting for Tinker
Because Hunter has great personal utility, I love having an in game companion especially since so many beast models are awesome! Archers / Rangers are my fav DnD class. Many other classes are not great or very slow at soloing outdoor content.
When I first started playing in Legion, my friends convinced me to tank dungeons. (which was scary but fun) In one such dungeon, I saw a fire mage and immediately exclaimed "WHAT IS THAT I WANT TO PLAY THAT". Now I play all variants of mage, but when I first saw that mage...man, that was it.
I picked disc priest MAINLY because I really liked the animation of penance. But after playing it for over a year I realize I love it because it reminds me of the raid healer I played in other MMO's, a shield healer that heals by damaging. I love it, will always love it, it will always be my main.
Mistweaver monk has always been one of the best and most fun class/healers to play! It has been improving since Dragonflight and I'm very happy of where it's at now! I've always loved healing and I'm proud to have confidence in doing so! 💚
Dracthyr Frost Mage has so many knock back interrupts and slow spells; can glide, fly, and teleport around the world. Plus exalted with Kalu'ak, can walk on and breathe under water.
Played Warcraft 3 and loved the undead campaign so picking a forsaken warrior just felt right. But now. Times change and my main may find himself wearing new flesh.
As soon as I could play a Draenei, I became a Holy Goat Paladin, stayed with him until Cata. Cata broke way too much and wasn't as much fun to play anymore. So, my running mate suggested I try out other classes, when I made my Elemental Shaman though, I found my main!
.
SPACE GOAT, COAST TO COAST!!
Long story! I main a Night Elf Hunter. I've always tended towards "Elf Ranger" in RPGs. My first in EverQuest was a Wood Elf Ranger. When WC3 came out I fell in love with the Night Elves and Sentinels especially. So the closest I could get to that in WoW is Night Elf Hunter.
I rolled a troll hunter at like 5 years old because my older brothers were For the Horde, and I thought the blue skin was pretty. Playing anything else just doesn't feel right. 😌
Originally (15 yrs ago) mine was a fire mage. I didn’t play the last 10 years and started up again last month and created a new main - a frost mage this time.
no but for real. i was a warlock main since tbc. the aesthetic and gameplay sucked me in. then i took a break from the game, decided i need a change of pace. in dragonflight i picked feral druid and it clicked right away, such an underrated spec ^^
I picked a Monk Pandaren cause when I saw the MoP trailer I thought it was so cool and I wanted to be one, and then I picked healer cause I thought it would be fun 😊
I started reading the novels around when WoW first launched and there was just something about Rhonin that inspired me to make a mage and I've stuck with her ever since! 🔥
i love how the draenei look and she was my first character, so i just chose the first class on the list (warrior), and now i have more hours on her than ive had in most minecraft worlds :p
Back in early Vanilla, my brother told me to "buy WoW, start with a Night Elf Hunter and to send him an ingame note".
He knew me all to well, because I fell in love with the game, the race and the class.
I now have one of every class, that hunter changed into a Draenei, but she is still my main.
Guardian druids win at questing, and once Revendreth let me make a full mog that could go with the nightmare forms, there was no looking back! Castlevania Druid for life!
It’s been many years, but I chose a mage back in the day as I enjoyed the blood mage hero in WC3:TFT. Fireballs all day every day! Imagine my surprise when I had to spec frost in Molten Core and BWL 🌨️
Used to play Hunter in Vanilla when I first started as the pets helped a lot. Then I found druid and has stayed my main ever since. Love healing and Feral, but not a bug fan of the fat owl.
in the Mists Beta i tryed out Mistweaver and i fell in love with the whole thing, pandaren were adorable, the locking on and healing with soothing mist is awesome.
and the Chi! omg the CHI was so fun, im REALLY hoping to get it back in the future!
i know its a lot of dev work, but im hopeful!
I picked monk because I can play all 3 roles as needed, it has great mobility, and the dps spec is my number 1 choice, the healer spec is tied for my first choice with disc, and the tank spec is my 2nd choice behind warrior. Plus, it has good utility with cc, dispel, stun, and knock back.
I always thought people who could play warriors were cool and I used to suck at it so bad...but then I made Lerrick and found I actually really enjoyed it A LOT. I still mostly suck at it...but at least I'm having fun.
I used to play ranged survival hunter before legion because that was the most dynamic gameplay of all specs. Nearly 9 years after Blizz deleted that spec, I'm still waiting for a spec half as much interesting ...
Since this day, I'm staying more for the stories than the classes.
After taking a break WoW in SLs S1, I thought I was done for good. In DF I came back, but I couldn't stand to go back to my BrM due to all the frustration with mythic raiding. My headcanon is she died, and she returned a DK. That's what 'Fanhui' means, 'to return', to the game and from the grave.
After bumbling about with Ret Pally, Resto Shaman, and a few others, I finally found a good fit with Lady Cristina, MM Hunter. I was able to fill a role in both a raid group and M+ group with my friends and I was pretty good, sometimes even really good!
Started with the versatility of Tauren Druid in Vanilla. Because Tauren and fluffy! Later it became a Goblin BDK, because of Death Strike. I just love the play style so much.
I usually pick a "main" to run the story. My alts will follow after. My main may change with expansions or sometimes patches even if something big happens and I want to experience it first on a certain character.
That’s one way to do it. Probably better than changing characters every few quests because you love your hunter, but your paladin is cool, but also your warrior should do this one.
Always been a Holy Paladin main. Don't know how it happened, it just did. Somethings cannot be explained by science, reason, or logic. Things are just made so, and it was.
Because I'm an Ugly Bastard and Thought Orc or Tauren would fit best to me. Tauren was it so I'm a Tauren now for 16 Years. And Warrior... I like Axes, Plate Armor and Shields. Paladin wasn't possible as Tauren back there so Warrior for Life!
Soooooo I leveled a destro warlock waaay back in classic when I was 12, but rejoined the game In Legion and noticed there were no locks in my guild at the time
Destro warlock has always been my main, and I love it
She’s a human warlock, which was the closest thing to me back in 2009. Despite trying every class and race, and her being a clothy, she’s still my main. She’s the glue between the tank, healer & DPS. Enthusiasm set to 13.
I started as Paladin and really love the class fantasy.
Switched to Hunter in Nathria because we had too many melee + a tank who would blame all the mechanics mistakes on me. So I played something that could be as far away from melee as possible but still mobile.
I was levelling my Paladin alt as Ret after Amirdrassil was cleared, planning to give healing a go again. Ended up enjoying it so much I swapped from my boomie during TWW pre-patch.
I really like water themed skills and VFX. And I always play as support. So shaman healer was my pick in the end.
I also love orcs. I wish they had eyebrows...
The vanilla description for mages sounded cool as hell- something about utilizing the actual essence of magic from the Nether in place of lightning magic changed the way I saw the mage class in almost all fantasy media.
Once upon a time when I was like 13?? I saw someone be a Holy priest in a casual bg and heal when dead. Basically I sucked so bad that I knew I'd die a lot so I wanted the ability to atleast be useful for a little bit after I died.
my first main as a child was a troll hunter- i liked the fact they could have pink hair and i could tame a bunch of animals!
second and longest main was my night elf druid, i enjoy elves a lot and the whole druid class fantasy. also the fact i could turn into a cat was a neat bonus 😼
current day main i play a blood elf paladin! my love for elves stayed the same. but i became very intrigued in paladin's thanks to the characters in lore! (Uther, Tyrion, Pre-Frostmourne Arthas)
Back in 2005 I was mostly a roleplayer and was not very good at the game. Sometime considered a burden by my friends.
Then one day I played a priest healer. I was good. I was needed. I was wanted. That felt awesome.
I already loved tauren, and Highmountains (specifically Skyhorn) amplified that to the Nth degree. I love outdoorsy, adventurous, frontiersman type vibes and they match that to a T. Plus they have himbo energy.
I loved playing a Shadow Priest, but it got unbearably squishy during BfA... so I went for the same slow damage, but in plate, with plenty of self-healing. I've been a Protection Paladin ever since.
It started because I just wanted an Alliance side character and to try out Frost spec for DK.
But I just got so attached to the idea of being a big idiot werewolf throwing snow at people and then stabbing them that I really can never abandon him.
I decided to play demon hunter when Legion started because of double jump. Double jump and glide are the best feature. Also DH is very strong for solo play with good self-healing. I tried to switch a few times, but also I’m very attached to my DH and feel invested in her as a character. 😁
I mained an Undead Warlock from vanilla -> wotlk because I was an edgy little thing that wanted demon pets. Tried a Hunter alt in wrath and got HOOKED.
I love the ease of soloing on them & collecting pets for different themes!
The original Neoxbow was a human wild hunter from a game called MapleStory. When I made her, I liked blood elves but I wanted to be true to her history.
I did a hunter when I was 11 years old (2008) because of Tyrande from Warcraft 3. Later I found out she was a priest. So main priest until this day and Tyrande still is my everything and most played hero in HoTS. #mother
Been Beastmaster Hunter since 2005 - I liked the idea of taming pets. Race changed many times since. Tauren in Vanilla because I like beast-ish races and Alliance had none. Then Draenei. Worgen. Vulpera. May be back to Worgen now, honestly. Vulpera feel forgotten, hard to find pride in playing one.
Originally it was because I could defend a node solo in BGs as Affliction. Then it was because I could pull tons of stuff and heal through my DoTs. You've gutted all that over the years but I keep playing my Warlock because it's fun to me though I've been forced onto Demonology now.
Okay, Back when I started, way back in BC. I tried Warrior, found that after level 10, I couldn't stand Melee (actually warrior, I can't). Then I wanted toPlay an Undead Hunter (wasn't allowed yet), Looked at Sylvanus, and decided on a Blood Elf Hunter. The come to... 1/?
the last week of the Legion Beta, Blizzard made MM from the chef's kiss of the WoD MM hunter (which I played every xpack since raiding in BC) to the multishot garbage Legion MM became. Then I fell in love with Havok DH, which lasted until forcing keeping that AOE fire ability up on them... 2/3
So, in Drgonflight, Evoker became my main. And this xpack, I'm trying to be a little more fluid, I still play my Evoker, but I'm stuck between it and my Druid and my Lock (was getting close with my MM hunter being my main, but then you change it a-fucking-gain). 3/3
I played LOADS of Warcraft 3 and really liked both the characters of Thrall and Rexxar. Ended up going with an Orc Hunter because of those two and have been happy since!

Druid is always close though because I love cats and feral....well.....yeah.
And sometimes! I can cheese difficult encounters out in the open world if I'm gamer enough! I'm so full of utility!
Then I picked warlock because I have the memory of a goldfish.
There's no competition as far as I'm concerned.
.
SPACE GOAT, COAST TO COAST!!
The big scary knight of death was even cooler.
Put them together, you get a very spooky goat.
I was like, eight lol
and she is still my main to this day
(btw buff feral)
From there I got dragged into it, and after RPing her for a few months she became my new content main along with my RP main. I play her to this day! 😊
He knew me all to well, because I fell in love with the game, the race and the class.

Blood Elf Paladin
and the Chi! omg the CHI was so fun, im REALLY hoping to get it back in the future!

I love teleport spam and dual wielding swords!
Since this day, I'm staying more for the stories than the classes.
…do I have an alt problem…?
No. No it’s the other players who are wrong.
Legion brought em all back and demon hunters were a fun class to play so all got together for me to pick dh as my main.
Destro warlock has always been my main, and I love it

Love him still.

Shaman tank when ?

…yet?
🤣
Or what a tattoo of two beer cans cheersing should say?
I love the ease of soloing on them & collecting pets for different themes!
So I flipped a coin, and the rest is history.
Then Pandaren monk in mists, because hell yeah Panda Kenshiro punching people a thousand times!
Then Dracthyr evoker, devastation is playable sugar to me.
