It's possible if you carefully balance the freezing / baking process, but the *real* trick is pulling this off with a vegan cake. I haven't managed a satisfactory vegan substitute "guy in the cake" yet, and TBH I'm nowhere close. Anyone have any tips?

If you put a vial of poison gas in the cake along with an unstable nuclear isotope connected to a timer that'll break the vial if it decays enough, the guy will be fine until you check on him because he'll be neither alive nor dead, which dodges one problem but does open up several more

You got it right, you just forgot the oversized spring under the body. Latching it is tricky as the cooking heat can release it and send him flying out of the undercooked cake in the oven, very messy. Good luck on future attempts!
