Marvel looses all goodwill from the F4 trailer for then releasing this AI slop as a poster

“We were homaging Norman Rockwell. You don’t have a monopoly on that.”
"Yes, we recreated that exact Alex Ross art. Because we own it. He made it for us."
Bunch of them holding their hands up with nothing
SO many talented comic book artists could've presented something INFINITELY better, FULLY marketable, and yet they wanted to save a few bucks (likely upwards of 1k, but with Marvel money, they're STILL scrimping?)
SO many artists could evoke the era, but Marvel said, "pfft. AI go beep-boop, DONE!"
that said, i'm looking forward to something more Super (and hoping they don't go the route of AI for anything).
PAOLO MF RIVERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE JUST HIRED HIM?!?!?!?!
I hope whoever prompted these monstrosities into existence never has a professional creative gig for the rest of their life.
A real artist made this. Quality aside.
Some of the foreground elements could be AI generated. It's harder to tell when the images aren't photorealistic.
But the foreground figures are were most of the AI weirdness is located. The hand. The useless buttons. The cameras being used incorrectly. The hat, coat, and glove without a person.
And what are we even accomplishing with this nitpicking. Disney isn't going to listen to people on Twitter or bluesky.
In another year we probably won't be able to tell anyway.
Artists will probably start showing Photoshop layers or 3d models alongside posts. Which is already happening occasionally.
I love the Fantastic Four but may have to skip this movie out of principle.
Color me shocked.
Fuck AI, but repeated faces are not AI.
There was an uproar about ai for the thunderbolts poster too for the one guys hand but it was shown to just be a weird angle there
But it's Marvel, so they could spin it as a mutant.
Really crappy mutant ability, though.
A repeated face? could be an error a human makes.
The wrong number of fingers on a textured hand? An arm that shrinks to 50% of its size? Only errors an AI would make.
