but also UBI shouldn’t mean that people that do work don’t get paid. you should still get paid for your labour. raising children is work and you should be paid for it, you wouldn’t expect a nanny to be free

In practice how do you see that working? Some do more unpaid care work than others, right? Do they all get paid the same? If yes, that's unfair. If no, now you need administration and bureaucracy. Do parents fill out time cards? What about parents who don't get paid because of the paperwork?

not all parent will get paid the same, if your a stay at home parent you’d get paid more than one who isn’t, as you’re doing more work. parents who have disabled kids get paid more as they are more work. that’s how it works in my country but only if your under the poverty line

parents work 24/7 so time cards are redundant.right now in my country if you meet the criteria you get fortnightly payments. that’s how it should work for everyone. children should have access to schooling, medical aid and mental health check to make sure parents are doing their jobs.

yah exactly, adults would have to be in charge of it until they’re old enough to make decisions about it themselves. i don’t think a 6mo would be able to spend money wisely lol. i’d say 14-18 i’m not the one to decide what age it should be the government with info from specialists will decide that

Yes, it would be spent by the parents as all child benefits are. My point is that an adult with kids would get more than a single adult because of the child component.

single parent should get more money than a two parent household, again that’s how it works in my country now but only to those below the poverty line, parents above the poverty line still struggle so it needs to be expanded
