I was waiting for this story to pivot to angry Canadians attacking you instead for besmirching the fair to middling name of Tim Hortons.

How dare denigrate our beloved coffee chain like this! Rob is not worthy of such comparisons.

If anything , Tim Hortons is the Ron Pearlman of doUGHnut shops.

as a Canadian, Tim's is mid at best. All they got going for them is ubiquity. Going to bat for them is like going to bat for Denny's: there may be the odd time you appreciate that there's one open nearby but in general what are you even doing.

A Krispy Kreme shop opened in Edmonton recently.
The line at the drive trough required a flag person and security for weeks. Still there on Sundays etc.
A break in the action New Year’s Day..I lined up for a taste….its a doughnut😳 …why the line ups???
People waited an hour or more???

And let us not forget that bright, colourful Tim's cups are an essential element in all Nova Scotia landscapes. I can't imagine standing on the shores of the mighty Atlantic without those cheery elements scattered everywhere that the eye can see.

Not big on Timmies but I will say they do make an effort as the cups are 100% biodegradable (lids included). I know this because I've worked with them many times on anti littering community clean-up initiatives.

I don't know what it is about rural Nova Scotia, but you see discarded Tim Hortons' cups EVERYWHERE. Like, you would have had to DRIVE to get there, so why not just keep the trash in your car til you get home?
