President Donald Trump’s plan to impose a 25% tariff on all imported aluminum could cost 100,000 American jobs, the CEO of one of the largest US aluminum makers warned.

I truly think Elon rigged this election for Trump. Elon and his team were in strategic places before and during the election. Musk and Putin have *something* on Trump.
CNN I doubt very much that would happen. Coke a cola would not fire there entire can department if they switched over to plastic. They would just have their workers use plastic containers instead of cans.
Politics ,Tariffs and Trump aside. We are talking about Coke a Cola which the article mentions. If you owned a company that canned drinks with aluminum and had to switch to plastic or glass would you fire everyone or just re train them on something that simple?
We are such a deeply stupid country, the only way some of these people will learn is when the consequences smack them in the face. Unfortunately, i don’t think that will be enough for many of true cultists, they’d jump out of plane
w/o a parachute if King Dipshit told them they could fly.
During a House Democratic Caucus press conference on Tuesday, a reporter asked Representative Crockett what she would say to Musk if she could speak to him directly.
When will “business” tell Trump he’s an idiot? When has he ever been successful in his business? Never! Lie, cheat, and steal is all he know… wait for it. And filing bankruptcy. How many times did he do that?
It's always a balancing act between protecting domestic industries and maintaining jobs. Imposing tariffs might shield aluminum manufacturing, but the broader economic effects could ripple out. Hopefully, a well-rounded approach can keep both the jobs and the industry thriving.
The purpose of tariffs is to "protect" local product producers from foreign competition, and here's the CEO of one of the largest US aluminum producers saying it's a terrible idea and not to "help" him.
When Bush43 did that for steel, it hurt US steel users far more than it helped steel makers.
Countermeasures by other countries can be far more than products.
Trump slams Australia in March. Then we can F/off AUKUS (submarine deal) and close Pine Gap (a major spy base). The US as an allied partner can G&GF'd until this Gov't goes.
25% tariff explained: You currently buy a car battery for $100. The dealer buys it for $50. After tariffs, the dealer buys it for $50, then pays the $12.50 tariff tax to the government. They then charge you double what they paid: $125. Trump is not saving you anything!
He wants to trade the revenue from the parks that are for everyone to sell them to PRIVATE CORPORATIONS so they can DRILL FOR OIL and STRIP MINE them for their minerals.
An actual “doge” was an oligarchic ruler of medieval Venice — appointed FOR LIFE by a cabal of insiders, totally unaccountable to the people or anyone but a tiny group of fellow super-wealthy elites.
His goal seems to be bring companies to US, they will not pay tariffs, and create jobs tgat way. We all know that doesn't work for an economy that needs to expand, China knows that too, Trump doesn't know, he never knew but people keep voting for him 🤷♂️, I can't find 1 thing he does right
Trump doesn’t want anybody to know that they have no way of actually producing the same quality or volume of steel and aluminum that they’re getting from Canada and from other sources and it would take a decade to build new factories costing billions and the loss of millions of jobs. Foolish policy
I developed this last summer when considering Project 2025. Over the weekend, I completed my 2nd analysis of the effects it will have on the economy (it includes tariffs):
He seriously thinks Canada is going to pay the tariff and the price we charge for aluminum will say the same? How stupid is stupid? Obviously this raises stupid to a previously unheard of tRumpian level🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

I am hoping Canada will not countervail this tariff, but will just ban all exports to the US including all aluminum.
Makes it easier for Putin to take over
How about his customers?
Think housing affordability is out today?
Just wait. The Nazis have a nice warm cot for you.

There’s also steel
So stupid because he did this once already-he knows what will happen. He had to reverse within a year last time
More like 2 million, just in USA alone

"Fuck off!”

I told you Trump never wrote his own business school exams.
Great only Trump business.
American people are so naif.

This means that we can expect major rus escalation of conflict in upcoming weeks.
