Small miracle: Slept for unbroken 8 hours straight for what may be the first time in years. Is this how Somniacs feel all the time? This is incredible.

I’m actually going into the doctor for that exact reason. It got really bad yesterday for me. Like i feel like I cannot breathe that good and so I sent myself into 3 10 minute pass outs. It was scary. And now I’ve been noticing that like I’ll wake up from a dead sleep with my heart racing.
I don't know how it happened this time! My usual thing is I sleep for 3 hours, wake up, putter around for 30 minutes and then fall back asleep for another 3
After like 35 years of sleeplessness I finally found the combination of melatonin, CBD and THC and holy shit that sweet 8 hours of sleep is a true delight! I now have that smug 'I'll just go straight to sleep' feeling that the somniacs take for granted 🌙 ⭐
When i first moved in with my now wife, she imposed a strict 22:00 bedtime. I wake up at 06:00 for work and for years slept at around 12 or 1. At first I was very negative, but now after 2 years of consecutive 8 hour sleep sessions, it has rewired for the better my mind and body.
Good for you! The last 2 weeks my insomnia had returned full force after feeling so much heartbreak for this world and I’ve just had my first bit of actual unbroken sleep and I still feel exhausted but now refreshingly so!
16 years worth of my own insomnia and PTSD was put into this:
Sleep patterns of 3-4 hrs, awake 30 min to an hour, sleep 3-4 hrs was a typical one for many people for centuries. Mild insomnia here. I get anywhere from 5 to 8 hrs, with periodic foray into a 3-4hrs/1 hr/3-4 hrs stretch. Btw, mild insomnia since the age of 12.
Of all my weird brain issues and disorders, I'm lucky I ended up able to fall asleep fast and sleep like the dead all the way through the night. A full night's sleep makes all the other things a little more bearable
Fyi, depending on the causes & a person's brain chemistry, Unisom might not work. E.g., for me, it just makes me feel narced out. And also the "hangover" the next day is like moving in jello.
That sense of joy you get for having all the sleep is quickly followed by irritation and dejection when you realize that this is how most people start their days.
The weather down here in FL finally getting into the 40s and 50s at night actually has my heart rate going down to 49bpm while I sleep with the windows open, I think I know the feeling. Still getting 5 or 6 hours of sleep on work days though :/

I recommend making purchase of a sleep mask though, really helps for me /gen
Normally I function on 4-6 hours. Not healthy but I don't need much, I guess
