i was like "laser doesn't hurt enough, let's do electrolysis!" and off i went again and again to dallas for lidocaine injections followed by day-long sessions. ow. ouch.
WW1 is a great analogy cause I routinely go through all this pain and wasted money just for the tiniest amount of progress in an ultimately futile endeavor (I'm blonde so it mostly doesn't work)
It's fun because they'll often go up in intensity over time when they have more data on how your skin reacts so you get to enjoy it more!
The little bit left on my lip that gets hit is excruciating but it's only a few seconds. Also for me the chest and inner thigh areas hurt the most besides that.
I'd still happy take that or getting zapped to within an inch of my life if it meant I'd never have to touch another razor again. I need THREE in order to shave properly! If only I had the money for it! 😭
I can't believe I have to live my literal entire life never having this because I'll never be able to afford it while seemingly every other person on earth gets to
I’ve had IPL and electrolysis (the place I go to doesn’t offer laser; I keep meaning to investigate places that do, and then not getting around to it). IPL is definitely easier!
it's great when your body starts pushing the dead hairs out of your follicles very slowly but they haven't fallen out yet, so for a few days you just have a bunch of tiny little charcoal sticks embedded in your face
i never experienced dysphoria around my facial hair until that first week after my first session where it looked like shit but hadn’t fallen out yet but was also literally dead just a ghost of the man i had killed hanging on
Tbh laser hurt a lot more than electrolysis but it might be the methodology being used. But then again I fell asleep during a root canal when they were drilling.

This must be how Chrstopher Lee felt.
(To the tune of “What Should We Do With A Drunken Sailor”, natch.)
With numbing cream I have literally fallen asleep during electrolysis multiple times

But, I'm hairy everywhere.

Although lasers are probably superior to old-fashioned electrified needle face poking, which is what I get.
It also can only kill the hair follicle during its growth phase, which is why it has to be done over and over again.
Good for broad patches, but not for pinpoint and permanent removal.
That or the person giving me electrolysis cared less.
Zappity zap, don't come back
🤷♀️
I never had anything close to my 1hr electrolysis sessions for laser.
