Ok here you go. Here's what I wrote to the CBC Ombudsman. - As an award-winning Canadian journalist, I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the upcoming radio program hosted by Ian Hanomansing, which aims to discuss the idea of Canada becoming the USA's 51st state. 1/

Shame on Hanomansing & CBC.
Stop talking about the idea of "Canada becoming the 51st State" as if it were normal: it's more than an insult, it's a threat.
Are you out of your mind? Canada is a sovereign country.
The US has entered an era of dictatorship, don't you realize it?
CBC was truly part of who I was... I'm 70+ and been listening since I was a kid. I've been mad at CBC News for a while now, but today I feel kinda wrecked, sadder and wiser, as if a friend had betrayed me.
So eloquently stating what I feel and am too flustered to say!
What that question means to me is that a foreign power, the USA, has intentions to conduct a hostile takeover of the sovereign nation of Canada.
And the official communication entity of Canada is framing that intention as an item for discussion.
Anyone promoting joining Trump's christian nationalist empire is a collaborator.
And celebrity hosts aren’t helping. Ian Hanomansing’s defensive, patronizing response has been awful, inflaming the reaction.
Selling out your country doesn’t have two sides to it.
And it doesn’t have to be violent to do that.
Annexation of neighbouring smaller countries by larger countries has always been a crime in common law and international law
And Having Kevin O’Leary on as a guest is worse, a man who without any legal authorization pretended to be a rep of our Government at Mar-A-Lago.
That is why I can’t simply move in and take over my neighbours house, and why Russia can’t just take Ukraine.
This isn’t new. It’s a basic underlying part of all legal systems.
They are not just reporting on the fire, they are interviewing the arsonist as if he has a legit point of view.
Read this, Ian.
Already leaning to the right!

Will conclude it was balanced discussion of topical issue--and gloss over the framing and the guests--O'Leary----Mara Liasson and David Frum (both of whom are insiders on the DC cocktail circuit and Bush republicans)
but we may not all be heard. So thank you 🇨🇦
Thank you.
Better to get rid of the people making the decisions and the presenters who are willing to sell us out, than to get rid of the CBC itself.
Canadians aren't readily willing to give up CBC, but we certainly would be willing to push it out if it didn't represent us. What better way to do that than to have programming that is contrary to our own best interest.
Nothing wrong in investigating the background of a public figure.
It's what we all should be doing regardless.
I was hoping someone would look into it.
I mean, listen, I would say the same thing about Kevin O'Leary. He's totally compromised through and through.
If a country wants to annex you like Russia is doing then there will be collaborators.
Canada definitely has them. Basic logic.
You managed to say everything that I wanted to
Not as eloquently as you, but I made my disgust for this wrong-headed discussion clear.
First time I've ever complained about the CBC.
Someone needs to be held accountable for this
Now I still did tell Ian how I felt on here too, but now I'm doing both 🙃
