This weird framing of an otherwise informative article (what are my elected officials doing) is exactly why I unsubscribed to the Strib- good journalism but with a thumb on the scale. The city clerk is not a technical and ministerial entity. He’s an active, political arm of the Frey admin. He campaigned for Stong Mayor on city time. Your framing here makes it sound like he’s protecting norms and traditions, when he’s playing the game as much as anyone.

I'd expect someone whose description is "city council reporter" to know that the city clerk functions as an extension of the Frey admin, which is pro-Zionist.
