No thank you, Nancy.

Unpopular opinion: I know it's cool to wear your earbuds and carry a book while pasting a disinterested, don't-talk-to-me expression on your face, but I like to talk to the person sitting beside me on airplanes. I liked it when we were willing to be inconvenienced by strangers.

- Let's be friends!
- No, thankyou.
- feck off
- erm, no
Two minutes later you get up and walk away to nowhere in particular
Further, try not to chat to people where they can’t get away, such as an aeroplane.
Recently on a plane back from Berlin a man kept trying to make conversation with me despite the empty seat between us, my headphones on, with my laptop open while I was *clearly* working. Sociopath.
On the train I will talk to cute dogs, cats, budgies or other animals and I may be polite and talk (briefly) to the humans too. But not on planes which are cramped and horrid.
